Life as we have come to realize is short, though it might seem long but everything would come to past and that means every second, minute, hour, day, year, decade, century should be precious to us. Our milestones are very important. Family is probably the most important element of our lives especially when you have great ones. Love, friendship and family(LFF) are key to having a happy life. These three factors if we have the right ones, can help us appreciate the world but also when we have the wrong ones, it can make us probably not appreciate the world.

Let’s start with family, we do not choose our family, we are born into them and they have major influence on how we are modelled, formed and who we become as adult. Some of us have been lucky to have great family while others have not. For those of us who have, let’s not take them for granted and always tell and show them how much we love and appreciate them. For those of us that don’t have, our friends can become our family and give us the support that we need, this takes me to friendship.

A lot of people think this is overrated but I dare to say that I disagree , these guys are the ones that make and  lift us up when we are down, laugh at our jokes, wipe our tears, give us a hug when we need it  most, come to our rescue when we are trapped or in trouble, these are our superheroes, they are the reason we stand up again after every fall, they are the true definition of love, so automatically true friendship is actually LOVE and this LOVE is  the reason why our hearts beat faster than usual sometimes, while we get goosebumps and get scared a times , this is where the real sacrifice comes in, where your own needs and wants become second place.

Love is the greatest gift from God, loving someone more than you love yourself might seem Impossible but if you were able to attain it, then you understand the meaning of God being “Love”. Jesus sacrificed himself for us, died on the cross, was crucified, dragged, shamed, bled and nailed to the Cross just to prove how much He loves us. God is the true definition of LOVE and this is how we should feel when we look into our partners’ eyes and tell them that we love them. The question therefore is, can we sacrifice our whole being for this person, can we die for him or her, does their life matter more than ours, can we give everything just to make them smile every day, hold their hands boldly on the streets, rub their neck when it hurts, make breakfast and serve them in bed when they are too tired to stand up, clean them up when they get old and can’t do it by themselves? I can go on and on but I would leave you with this , does your heart leap for joy, just at the sight for them, and nobody else matter when they are in the same room with you?

I know I have felt this way and it’s the greatest feeling ever. I pray you find these three: – “LOVE, FRIENDSHIP and FAMILY”.

Very heartfelt message Uche. This devotional really resonated with me. I wish people would realize if we loved how Jesus loved us, no one would lack because everyone would be sharing the with one another. Whether that be sharing love or sharing burdens, we unite and glorify God when the body of Christ works together. We are the BODY! Remain blessed family.
