My brother and l talked about our conscience, and our inner self during one of my vacations with him. A couple of weeks later while l was meditating, that discussion flashed back to me and l thought l should share it with you, my readers.   Here it goes;

When was the last time you paused to listen to your conscience before making a decision?

When was the last time you refused to do something because your conscience made it clear that it was wrong?  Have you ever regretted following your conscience? When we ignore our conscience, we betray ourselves, others, and God.

There is a curious lightness of being that comes with a clear conscience. People used to say we sleep better with a clear conscience. A clear conscience is profound, simple, complex, mysterious, and liberating all at the same time. It is both simple and complex because we have a responsibility to develop and form our conscience, and to align it with the truth in all things. Listening to our conscience is relatively easy once we begin to consistently make the effort. Continually developing our conscience is quite difficult and complex. Knowing when to let go of things once thought were true in favor of greater truths is psychologically and spiritually challenging. It requires courage and grace.

And yet, deep within you there is a gentle voice, the voice of your conscience. It is the best version of yourself whispering to you in the moments of your day. When we listen to it, we experience a joy and lightness; when we ignore it, our soul aches and we experience a profound feeling of being subdued.

. Let’s try to listen to that gentle voice within. When people say, my mind is made up, believe me, they have listened.
