The journey to the kingdom is often marked by hardships and moments of doubt. However, Jesus invites us to place our burdens on Him. In Matthew 11:28-30, He says, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” By surrendering our worries to Jesus and trusting in His plan, we experience peace that surpasses understanding. In (Philippians 6-7), Jesus says ‘’Don’t worry about anything, but in all your prayers ask God for what you need, always asking Him with a thankful heart’’ Even in the storms of life, we can be rest assured that Jesus is with us, guiding us safely to our destination.
Similarly, if sometimes, the way before us appears to be blocked, we have to focus on succeeding and not on the obstacles that is before us because the Shepherd who is leading us is Jesus Christ. If we keep our eyes on Him and think positive, the obstacles will be behind us before we know it. This is the important secret of our success to the kingdom. Nevertheless, the Christian journey to the Kingdom of God is a path of faith, surrender, and obedience to the will of Jesus Christ. So, as Christians, we are called to rely on Jesus for guidance in every aspect of our lives, trusting that He is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). By depending on Him, we find the strength, direction, and wisdom we need to navigate the challenges of this world while keeping our eyes fixed on the promise of eternity.
Be that as it may, we need to break away from negativism and occasionally go over our lives prayerfully to see if there are areas in our lives that we need to work on. These areas may not be easy to find because we all have blind spots however; these blind spots can be found through prayer. We are aware that prayer is the most profound ways we can rely on Jesus and also obtain God’s will for us. Prayer is our lifeline to God, it enables us to seek His wisdom, guidance, and presence. Jesus Himself demonstrated a life of prayer, He often retreated to quiet places to talk to His Father.
As we celebrate the year of HOPE this year, we should remember that the journey to God’s Kingdom is not one that we can travel alone. Jesus is reassuring us with the hope of His return and the promise of eternal life. In John 14:2-3, He says, ” There are many rooms in my father’s house and I am going to prepare a place for you. I would not tell you this if it were not so. And after I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to myself, so that you will be where l am’’ This promise encourages us to persevere in faith, knowing that our reliance on Jesus will ultimately lead us to the fulfillment of His Kingdom.
Consequently, relying on Jesus’s guidance is the foundation of a life devoted to God. Through prayer, Scripture, obedience, and the help of the Holy Spirit, we are empowered to walk the path He has set before us. When we trust in Jesus fully, we find joy, peace, and purpose, even amidst life’s trials. Eventually, our reliance on Him will lead us to the Kingdom of God, where we will experience the fullness of His glory and grace for all eternity.
